My teacher-friends from the district are saying that now the district is withholding 301 funds from teachers that have failing students. And the students use the policy as a crutch, which is why they don't measure up to the standardized exam performance expectations imposed by their favorable demographics. This means that teachers are having to devote an inordinate amount of time to regrading and redesigning assessments instead of focusing on lesson planning and providing students with feedback. For example, educators are required to give students unlimited opportunities for retakes of assessments.
